Measurement of Speed and Completeness of Fixing Biopsy Material with Addition of Food Colorant to Formalin

The analysis of the speed and completeness of 10% formalin fixation, phosphate buffered using food coloring E124 (Ponceau 4R) in 57 samples of leiomyoma tissue obtained during surgical emergency histological study material. It is found that the colorant is uniformly and completely stained samples after 72 hours, and at 24-48 hours fixation were not dyed portions. Therefore, this technique can be used to estimate the rate fixing by direct visible staining.

In the course of life of the adult there were present clinical manifestations of heritable disorder of connective tissue. The authors of the article have demonstrated that hardships in detecing heritable disorder of connective tissue are connected with diverse clinical sympthoms, polyorganic damage, absence of clear diagnostic criteria, and also with low level of knowledge of doctors with clinical profile, pathologoanatomists and forensic medical experts about this pathology Low levels of informed knowledge of the doctors on the criteria for diagnostics lead tot the situation where majority of kids and adults with heritable disorder of connective tissue are left without the diagnosis because of absence of complex and thourough analysis of their medical information. As a result they do not recieve necessary recommendations on development of their life style, allowed level of physical activities and profesional orientation. The Talc-Induced Granulomas of Lungs at Injection Drug Users

Polarizing light microscopy is a method which enables identification of granulomas in lungs. Their formation can be caused by different reasons. Among diseases which are followed by formation of granulomas in lungs there is so-called granulomatosis which develops at injection drug addicts, who used for a long time intravenous injections of suspension intended for oral application and which contains talc and other insoluble components. Such addicts are left with a destructive effect during the rest of the life (the talc-induced granulomas). Granulomatosis which develops at injection drug was studied in foreign and national literature, however this issue needs further attention as such cases continue to appear in practice of national forensic experts.

Accuracy of the Results of Ethanol Content Measurement in Biological Fluid Medium and Checking Quality of Analysis Realization (Examination)

For reliable detection and quantification of ethanol in biological fluids (blood, urine, saliva) we have developed a metrologically certified measurement procedure «Method of gas chromatographic determination of the content of ethyl alcohol in aqueous solutions and liquid biological fluids of living persons and dead bodies». According to the recommendations of the International organization for standardization and metrology (ISO) the accuracy of the measurement result is evaluated through a «measurement uncertainty». In order to ensure the reliability and comparability of measurement results we carry out the control of correctness of research according to STB ISO 5725-2002.
