In the run-up to their professional day, Belarusian forensic experts are holding the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Eurasian forensic experts’ partnership: challenges, problems, ways of solutions and prospects of development» dedicated to this date. The event is held from 19 to 20 April, 2018. Representatives of at least 34 expert institutions from more than 20 countries took part in Conference (the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Latvian Republic, the Lithuanian Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the UAE, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Serbia, the USA, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Swiss Confederation, the Republic of Finland, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Montenegro).

Belarus is the first country in the world to unite forensic experts in a unified agency. The results of the reform of the forensic sphere in Belarus have been highly appreciated by various foreign delegations, which visit the Committee more often every year. Some states are already following the Belarusian model – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan.

Participants of the International Forum were the newly appointed Chairman of the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes, the Director of the National Bureau of Investigation Forensic Laboratory of the Police of Finland Mr. Erkki Sippola and the Head of the Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexey Shishko, as well as the General Director of the Institute of Forensic Science of the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China Zhao Qiming, who is currently responsible for the management and implementation of China’s forensic activities and heads the Asian Forensic Sciences Network.

Within the framework of the Conference Agreements on cooperation in the field of forensic activity were signed with forensic institutions of People’s Republic of China, the Latvian Republic, and the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Agreements provide for cooperation in the field of research on the theoretical and legal, organizational and methodological problems of forensic activities, the creation of new and improvement of existing methods and techniques of expert research, the exchange of experience of expert practice.

During the breakout sessions, which will be held on April 20, experts will exchange their accumulated experience in organizing and conducting research in the field of forensic medical, forensic technical, forensic criminalistic and other types of examinations.

The products of both Belarusian developments of technical solutions for forensic activities (RUE «Belsudekspertobespechenie», LLC «Regula») and world manufacturers (LLC «Snaybmed», LLC «Ekomir») were demonstrated to the foreign colleagues.

Modern development of science and technology opens up additional opportunities for forensic experts. At the same time, none of the most modern equipment can work without a qualified expert, without his knowledge and practical experience.

In this regard the exchange of experience, joint developments and new research methods should be in the constant field of view of expert institutions. And such meetings of experts are an excellent platform for further development of the forensic sphere.
