The State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russian Federation will cooperate on qualitatively new level 12 october 2017

Agreement on cooperation in the field of forensic activity between the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation was signed 12.10.2017.

Since the establishment of the Belarusian expert agency the State Committee has been working on strengthening the interdepartmental dialog in the forensic area with colleagues from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

Starting point of this dialog was inclusion of the State Committee in the list of the competent bodies within the Agreement on improvement of interaction in combating crime between the Republic of Belarus and Russian Federation 15 September 2014.

This event helps the Belarusian experts to study experience of colleagues from the Forensic Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the sphere of speech products examination. That is very essential for our country in view of the fact that linguistic examination is implemented in the State Committee as a new kind of expertise.

Also Belarusian experts exchanged experience with leading Russian specialists this year during the visit to the Forensic Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the sphere of examination of computer and radioelectronic devices.

Today’s meeting and signing of Agreement on cooperation in the field of forensic activity is documentary confirmation of relations of friendship and mutual beneficial cooperation.

As a result of signing of this Agreement our experts will be able to share experience on new developing directions of expert activity, conduct mutual scientific applied researches, provide practical and methodological mutual assistance and exchange criminalistic information for combating international and transnational crime.

For example, information exchange of genotype databases and cooperative work of Belorussian and Russian forensic experts made it possible to identify and prosecute a person who committed rape series in the period of 1999 – 2004 on the territory of Brest and Minsk regions of the Republic of Belarus and in Leningrad region of the Russian Federation. And a number of such examples of successful collaboration are increasing every year.

– We familiarized with material and technical base of the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus today. We noticed the results and amount of the work, good practices in examination of drugs and in other objects. The Agreement provides for the possibility of rendering of mutual assistance, mutual researches and scientific developments, – reported the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Russian Federation – Arkadyi Gostev after signing the Agreement.
