The delegation of the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus headed by the Deputy Chairman Major General of Justice Sergei Evmenenko paid an official visit to the Ministry of Interior of the Syrian Arab Republic on September 6-7, 2021.

This visit was a logical development of the established relations of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two agencies during the visit of Syrian colleagues from the Ministry of Interior to the State Committee on August 19-23, 2019.

During the visit of the Belarusian delegation to Damascus the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two agencies. The provisions of this Memorandum include the development of cooperation in the field of forensic expert activity. The Deputy Chairman Sergei Evmenenko held meetings with the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Syrian Arab Republic Mohammad Khaled al-Rahmoun and the Director of the Department of the Criminal Security of the Ministry of Interior of the Syrian Arab Republic Hussein Joma’a with whom he discussed key promising areas of cooperation. During the meetings agreements on training of Syrian experts at the Institute of Further Training and Retraining of the Personnel of the State Committee were reached.

The agreements on sending Belarusian forensic experts to the Department of the Criminal Security to train Syrian experts were also the result of the visit.
