Belarusian forensic experts signed an Agreement on cooperation with colleagues from Serbia 10 october 2018

Today, on October 10, 2018, an international treaty was signed in Belgrade – the Agreement on cooperation in the field of forensic activity between the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia. The document was signed by the Chairman of the State Forensic Examination Committee Andrei Shved and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia Nebojsa Stefanovic.

The signing of the Agreement was another step in the development of relations between experts from Belarus and Serbia. During an official visit to the Republic of Belarus last summer Nebojsa Stefanovic visited the State Forensic Examination Committee and met with the Chairman Andrei Shved. The result of the negotiations and demonstration of the State Committee’s capabilities to foreign guests was the decision to develop further cooperation and prepare for the signing of an international treaty.

The signed international document will allow Belarusian and Serbian experts to interact in a number of expert areas, exchange information and new achievements in the field of forensic science, and quickly solve the tasks facing them.

Besides, during the meeting, issues related to the organization of training of forensic experts were raised. Nebojsa Stefanovic noted the high efficiency of the Belarusian model of expert training, in particular the practical component of training and the wide coverage of expert specialties. From next year this model will be implemented in Serbia with the assistance of Belarusian colleagues.

Today’s return visit of the delegation of the State Committee to the Republic of Serbia and signing of the Agreement consolidated the existing relations of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. During the visit, the Belarusian delegation visited the National forensic center of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia and got acquainted with the activities of laboratories for physical-chemical and toxilogic research, DNA research laboratories.
