Violations of the ethics of scientific publications and conflict resolution

If a violation of the norms of publication ethics is detected by any participant of the publication process (editor-in-chief, member of the editorial board, editorial collegium, reviewer or author), the journal is entitled to examine (investigate) the relevant case, including solicit clarifications from such person. According to the results of their consideration the nature and significance of the violation is established.

Until the fact of violation of the norms of publication ethics is established, any case should be described as a suspicion of a violation. A minor violation of the norms of publication ethics by the author is a ground for refusing the publication. Significant violations entail the removal of the article from publication with the notification of this on the pages of the publication and on the website of the journal.

If material containing significant inaccuracies has been published, it should be promptly corrected in a form that is accessible to readers and indexing systems.

Violation of the norms of publication ethics by the reviewer is the basis for the termination of cooperation with such person from the side of the journal. The revealed and substantiated facts of such a violation shall be published on the website of the journal.

Conflict of interests arises when individuals’ have financial, scientific, or personal relationships that may affect their actions. If a conflict of interests is suspected, then this should be reported to the editor-in-chief or to the editorial office It is necessary to ensure that when resolving a situation of violation of the ethics of scientific publications, there are no persons involved who may have a conflict of interest with one of the parties.
